St George’s Day Parade

Posted on 26 April 2017

Sunday 23rd April was St George’s Day and 1st Huntington joined with 2000 Scouts and Guides from York to parade through the centre of the city for a special service at York Minster.

The sun was shining on the parade which made it a fabulous day out and a real showcase of the presence of Scouting in the city. During the service in the Minster we were treated to a sketch of the story of St George followed by the opportunity for all sections to renew their promise. Following that there was still time for a rendition of the Hokey Cokey (specially adapted for the occasion!) before heading back ourside for the parade back to Eye of York.

We even found time to pose for a few photos in the Minster Gardens before heading back!
